I am a patient and encouraging tutor who enjoys working with students who feel unsure about maths. I focus on building confidence by going at a pace that suits you and straightforwardly explaining things. Having helped many GCSE pupils, I know how important it is to feel supported without pressure. I aim to help you understand the topics that worry you most and to feel more positive about your learning. I believe small steps can make a big difference to your final grade.
My lessons are tailored entirely to what you want to achieve. I usually begin by talking through any areas you are struggling with, then we identify the topics that would make the biggest difference to your grade. I break these down into clear, simple steps and use examples that relate to everyday thinking where possible. We practise together, moving gradually from the basics to exam-style questions.
I also make sure we revisit key skills regularly to help them stick. I am happy to focus on homework, revision or specific exam questions depending on what you need. As the exam approaches, I spend more time on past papers, timing strategies and helping you avoid common mistakes.
I keep the atmosphere relaxed so you feel comfortable asking anything, no matter how small it may seem. Between sessions, I can suggest short, manageable tasks to keep your progress going. I track your understanding as we work and adjust our plan to match your goals. By the end of each lesson, you will leave with a clearer understanding and a simple plan for what to do next.
