I am a patient and encouraging tutor who enjoys helping A Level Chinese students develop confidence in using Mandarin accurately and naturally. I understand that sixth form language courses require much more than vocabulary, so I focus on grammar, speaking, translation, and cultural understanding. My aim is to help you become a more independent learner while preparing thoroughly for every assessment.
My lessons are carefully planned around your syllabus, current progress and examination priorities. We usually begin by reviewing recent classroom work before focusing on grammar, translation, reading comprehension or speaking practice using structured explanations and practical examples.
Conversation plays an important role in every lesson, helping improve pronunciation, fluency and confidence while discussing topics commonly assessed at A Level. I also help develop listening skills, written communication and analytical responses using authentic Mandarin resources alongside examination materials.
As assessments approach, we complete timed translation exercises, essay writing and speaking practice while focusing closely on examiner expectations and common mistakes. Throughout every lesson, I provide detailed feedback so you understand exactly how to improve your performance.
Between sessions, I recommend focused revision activities that reinforce weaker areas while maintaining steady progress. My aim is to help you approach every assessment confidently while developing a genuine appreciation of the Chinese language and culture.
